Because you have kept the UI, processing, and validation separate, you can use the same code in many testware applications. Each one of these components is referred to in .NET terminology as an assembly. Assemblies can be used by applications in one of two ways. The first way uses private assemblies and the second uses shared assemblies. Private assemblies keep the .exe and the .dll component files together in the same folder. The big advantage of this option is simplicity. If you ever have to fix a bug in one of these components (heaven forbid!), you would only need to place the new version of the file in the folder and test that the new fix did not break anything. Shared assemblies are a bit more complex, but are useful when you have many programs using the same components. Microsoft created a special place where you can register common components called the Global Assembly Cache (GAC). If you were to register the ReportMaker.dll in the
